Quincy IL: Small Town, Big Government
In this story, local Republicans and Democrats tag-team to put out of business a local charity providing safe rides home from local bars.
You would think that he’d be getting some sort of recognition award from the city, but nope, they just want to shut him down. Everything is ruled by litigation anymore, even when it doesn’t need to be. If he’s insured, why does he need regulating? They conducted stings(!) to make sure he wasn’t charging and found nothing. Most of this is based on his juvenile (though charged as an adult) criminal behavior. He did his time, he found something he could do to stay out of trouble and benefit society. But that’s not good enough in a town like Quincy. Once a criminal you are always guilty. It makes you wonder how many of the city council consider themselves to be Christians.
